Hey there, fellow freedom seekers and believers in serendipity! Buckle up, because I’m about to reveal the mystical (or is it?) reason behind our move from Pattaya to Koh Chang. Spoiler alert: it involves some big names in the Russian online business world and a whole lot of cosmic coincidences!
First, a little disclaimer: I’m not really a believer in the mystical. But I do think our thoughts shape our reality in ways we can’t always explain. It’s like we’re programming our future with every thought. Spooky, right?
So, why Koh Chang? Enter Irina Kozlova and Larisa Fedorova – two rockstars of the Russian info-business world. By some cosmic joke (or carefully orchestrated plan of the universe), they happened to be on Koh Chang at the exact moment we were deciding where to go next. Talk about perfect timing!
Now, let me paint you a picture of Koh Chang. Imagine Thailand’s second-largest island, a paradise of pristine beaches, waterfalls, and coral reefs. It’s so beautiful they made it a national park to keep it that way. Picture 5000 locals spread across 8 villages, living alongside tourists in harmony with nature. From November to March, the whole island turns into one giant playground for sun-seekers and digital nomads alike.
Our journey to this slice of heaven started at 7 AM in a Thai minivan, zigzagging through Pattaya to pick up other island-bound folks. The 4-hour drive was like a movie about exotic Asia – beautiful buildings, countless food stalls, and locals covered head to toe to escape the sun.
Oh, and did I mention we brought our cat, Alisa? Yeah, we’re those digital nomads. Pro tip: a little cat sedative goes a long way on a long journey. We’re not talking the hormone stuff (that’s illegal in Thailand), just some good old-fashioned vet-approved chill pills.
The ferry ride to Koh Chang took about 40 minutes, and let me tell you, the anticipation was killing us! There’s something magical about that feeling of excitement when you’re about to meet new people and explore a new place. It’s like your whole body is buzzing with possibility.
In the next post, I’ll dish on our meetup with Irina and Larisa. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
