Do you know what makes life in a Thai village different from a city apartment? Here, your neighbors might turn out to be… a bit unexpected! And today, I’ll tell you about one such encounter that forever changed my perspective on cohabitation.

Picture this: a cozy wooden house on stilts, surrounded by tropical greenery. The sun slowly sets, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. A typical evening in a Thai village near Chiang Mai. I’m sitting on the veranda, working on my laptop, enjoying the song of cicadas and the fragrance of blooming frangipani.

And suddenly… On the house wall, I notice it – a huge spider the size of my palm! First instinct – run. But local residents calmly explain: this is a harmless house spider that catches mosquitoes and other insects. They even give them names and consider them house guardians.

This was the beginning of my introduction to real Thai village life, where people live in harmony with nature. Here, a gecko on the ceiling is your best friend, singing before the rain, and a spider on the wall is a reliable guardian of your peaceful sleep.

In a Thai village, each day brings new discoveries. And while not all of them might seem pleasant at first, these moments make life here genuine, vibrant, and unforgettable. Here you learn to accept the world as it is, find beauty in simple things, and live in rhythm with nature.

And our spider? It still lives in its place, protecting the house from unwanted guests, and has become an integral part of my amazing life story in Thailand.
