As you know, Singapore is a shopper’s paradise and a place where everything is very expensive :). However, if you don’t like shopping and have a limited budget, it doesn’t mean Singapore isn’t worth visiting. It is, it really is, the main thing is to plan everything properly. Singapore has many free places and events.
I already told you about one – free concerts at the Outdoor Theatre on the waterfront opposite the Esplanade theater. An amazingly romantic place. The stage is set right on the waterfront against the backdrop of skyscrapers.
Another free entertainment in Singapore is the Laser Show on Marina Bay waterfront.
When the laser show takes place
- Sunday to Thursday: 8:00 PM, 9:30 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 8:00 PM, 9:30 PM, 11:00 PM
- No show on Mondays.
Show duration – 15 minutes
Which side is best to watch the laser show from
You can watch it twice. First time on Marina Bay waterfront (nearest metro Bayfront), second time from the Esplanade theater side. You can combine it all, as we did.
At 8:00 PM we watched the laser show at Marina Bay, then walked across the Helix Bridge (double helix bridge), then along the promenade to the outdoor theater on the waterfront (Outdoor Theatre). It takes about 10 minutes to walk. On the waterfront, right after the break, the second part of the concert at “On the Waterfront” begins (8:45 PM – 9:30 PM), and at 9:30 PM we watched the second laser show from here.
Helix Bridge Singapore
Laser show from Marina Bay waterfront side. This is the main place to watch the show. The fountains create a canvas on which the video is projected. Very impressive. The effect is amazing. Beautiful music.
And this is also the laser show, but from the Esplanade waterfront side. Here, of course, you can’t see the projection, fountains, and can’t hear the music. But the laser beams and illumination of the Marina Bay Sands hotel look very beautiful.
