Farewell to Koh Chang: The Journey Begins

On March 1st, we bid a touching farewell to our newfound friends at the “Oasis” resort on Koh Chang and embarked on our journey to Bangkok. Here’s how our adventure unfolded:

The Departure: We left early morning in a minivan full of foreigners.
Unexpected Companions: Two fellow travelers were visibly hungover, frequently requesting stops for fresh air.
Cultural Insight: We witnessed our first “angry Thai” – the exasperated minivan driver.
Travel Tip: Mystical Transitions

According to some mystical teachings, unusual situations often occur during life transitions. Keep your wits about you during these times!

The Long Road to Bangkok

Our journey to Bangkok was an adventure in itself:

  • Duration: The trip took over 7 hours.
  • Cityscape: We encountered massive traffic jams upon entering Bangkok, offering ample time to admire the grandeur of this Asian metropolis.
  • Lost and Found: In the hustle of arrival, we accidentally left our beloved Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 in the minivan.

Bangkok: First Impressions and Unexpected Turns

Our arrival in Bangkok brought a mix of experiences:

  • Accommodation: We chose a hotel that allowed pets and had good internet, despite its somewhat sketchy entrance.
  • Pet Adventures: Traveling with our cat added an extra layer of excitement to our journey.
  • Camera Conundrum: Upon realizing we’d left our camera behind, we contacted the tour company but eventually decided to purchase a new one.

The Silver Lining

We ended up buying a Sony SLT-A65V, which turned out to be an excellent upgrade!

  • Camera Care: Always double-check your belongings when disembarking from transportation.
  • Bangkok Shopping: The Sony SLT-A65V cost about 34,000 baht in Bangkok, including the lens.

Stay tuned for our next post, where we’ll take you on a tuk-tuk ride through Bangkok with a slightly tipsy but cheerful driver!
