Hey there, fellow freedom seekers and island enthusiasts! Grab your virtual sunscreen because I’m about to take you on a whirlwind tour of our first 24 hours on the tropical paradise of Koh Chang. Spoiler alert: it involves late-night storytelling, monkey sightings, and a fire show that’ll blow your flip-flops off!

Our Koh Chang adventure kicked off with an evening beach chat with our new gurus, Irina Kozlova and Larisa Fedorova. Picture this: soft sand between your toes, the gentle lapping of waves, and tales of 15 years of globe-trotting adventures. Talk about bedtime stories for digital nomads!

Speaking of bedtime, ever tried to sleep while feeling like your bungalow might float away? That’s Koh Chang for you – where the ocean’s lullaby is sometimes more ‘rock concert’ than ‘gentle whisper’.

Come morning, we hit the beach for a stroll. And let me tell you, Irina and Larisa picked the prime real estate on this island. It’s like they have a sixth sense for paradise locations!

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “But what about the Wi-Fi?” Well, let’s just say the universe has a sense of humor when it comes to work-life balance. We came to relax, right? Be careful what you wish for, fellow nomads!

Our island exploration led us to some pretty epic sights:

Monkeys chilling in treetops (nature’s own high-rise apartments)
A resort called “Oasis” (spoiler: it lives up to the name)
Sunsets that belong on postcards (or your Instagram feed)
We even stumbled upon the former hangout of the famous Dmitry Smakotin. Why? Apparently, he liked the internet there. Digital nomad problems, am I right?

But the real magic happened when we met Suni, the gorgeous owner of Oasis. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say this chance encounter led to some pretty cosmic coincidences down the road. Stay tuned for that story – it’s a doozy!

We capped off our first day with a beachfront dinner and a fire show that was hotter than my laptop after a day of video editing. Check out the video – it’s fire! (Pun absolutely intended)

Traveler’s Tip: Transportation around Koh Chang: 20-150 baht. Pro tip: negotiate like a boss!

So, fellow nomads, have you ever had a first day in a new place that just felt… magical? Where every coincidence seemed like a wink from the universe? Share your stories in the comments!

Remember, sometimes the best workdays are the ones where you close the laptop, open your eyes, and let the island work its magic. Keep your mind open, your camera ready, and your sense of wonder on full blast. You never know what (or who) you might discover on a little stroll down the beach!
