One of the entertainment options in Singapore is free concerts on the waterfront in front of the Esplanade – the outdoor theater “On the Waterfront”. A very romantic place. The stage is right on the waterfront against the backdrop of glowing skyscrapers.
Here you can check the program in advance: Free outdoor theatre concerts. This is a link to all free Esplanade programs. Select Friday, Saturday or Sunday in the calendar. Open the concert and look at the bottom to see where it will take place. It should say Outdoor theatre.
When concerts take place
Concerts usually take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:
- on Friday and Saturday: 7:30 PM – 8:15 PM, 8:45 PM – 9:30 PM, 10:00 PM – 10:45 PM
- on Sunday: 7:30 PM – 8:15 PM & 8:45 PM – 9:30 PM
On April 25th we attended a concert by the group Wicked Aura Batucada. Very cool guys.

The group seems to be very popular among Singaporeans. There were so many people… I barely made my way right to the stage to take a few shots. Here’s what I got.
