Hey there, fellow wanderers and digital nomads! Today’s post is all about the art of saying goodbye – Thai style. Grab a tissue (or a Chang beer) because things are about to get emotional!

You know that bittersweet feeling when you’re leaving a place you’ve grown to love? Well, multiply that by a thousand when you’re saying adios to your first Thai friends. But here’s a little nomad wisdom for you: always leave when the going’s good, not when you’re sick of the place. Trust me, it keeps the magic alive!

So there we were, packing our bags (and our cat – more on that later) for Koh Chang, Thailand’s third-largest island. But before we spill the beans on who we’re meeting there (suspense, am I right?), let me tell you about our farewell tour in Pattaya.

First stop: the local travel agency. We nabbed three tickets to Koh Chang – yep, you read that right, THREE. Two for us humans and one for Alisa, our feline travel companion. Now, getting a ticket for a cat wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. The secret? Money talks, my friends. We ended up paying a full adult fare for our furry friend. Remember, what can’t be solved with money can often be solved with MORE money. It’s the digital nomad’s golden rule!

With tickets in hand, we loaded up on farewell gifts and headed to say goodbye to our Thai friends. Let me tell you, it was a tear-jerker. These wonderful people were the reason we decided to extend our stay in Thailand. They opened our eyes to the warmth and beauty of Thai culture. Talk about life-changing!

Check out these videos of our emotional farewells:

Next up, we’ll dish on how to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang. Spoiler alert: it involves a minivan, a ferry, and one very confused cat.

Traveler’s Tip: Minibus from Pattaya to Koh Chang: 450 baht per person, plus 350 baht for a cat (yes, they’ll charge you a full fare for your furry friend if you insist). The journey takes about 5 hours from Pattaya to the ferry terminal.

So, fellow nomads, have you ever had to say goodbye to a place that stole your heart? How do you handle the emotional rollercoaster of constant hellos and goodbyes? Share your stories in the comments!

Remember, every goodbye is just a “see you later” in disguise. Keep your hearts open, your laptops charged, and your passports ready. The next adventure is always just around the corner!
